THE POSITION
Why this recruitment?
The goal is to develop a new UI production flow for Microsoft Flight Simulator via an in-house tool that will be used by our development teams.
Why wouldn't you want to skip that?
Because it's the opportunity to contribute directly to a legendary video game license, with very high quality standards (+90 Metacritic).
This role will also allow you to have a strong impact on the daily lives of studio developers, with a tool that will make life easier for many colleagues.
Your team
You will join the Microsoft Flight Simulator Engine team, and your “customers” will be the artists and programmers of the UI team. On a daily basis, you will have direct contact with 15 teammates. You will be under the supervision of Eric, Lead Engine Programmer.
Your missions
• You will learn about specifications that are already well advanced for this new tool, it is up to you to challenge it and implement its development.
• You will work closely with your Engine and Art colleagues to find pragmatic solutions adapted to the existing code.
• In communication with the production teams, you will take feedback into account and will be able to propose technical solutions.
• You will provide support for your tools via several communication channels
• You will take part in writing the documentation for your tools
• You will present your work to your colleagues during reviews
YOUR PROFILE
Keys to success in this role
• You have in-depth knowledge of C++
• You like to develop production tools
• You are sensitive to the well-being of the users of your tools, as well as their satisfaction
• You are very comfortable in communication, you have easy contact
• You regularly use version management tools (Perforce / Git)
The little extra to be even more comfortable in this role
• You have a good UI/UX sensitivity
